Wild Dharma Eco Retreat is a unique blend of boutique eco resort, yoga & meditation retreat centre,(or corporate venue) and a sublime ecological oasis on the wild west coast of Palawan in the Philippines.
It truly is one of those rare wild places that time seems to have forgotten.
Our integrated vision seeks to nudge humanity a little further towards sanity and maturity.
We are committed to being a model for regenerative tourism, a vehicle for real transformation for our guests, our staff our local communities and the environment.
We are keen to find the right partners.
Partners that understand our vision and what we are creating.

The connection between what we are doing to the planet,
and what we are doing to ourselves, isn’t a metaphor”
Regenerative Tourism as a Force for Global Transformation
Tourism is the world’s largest movement of people and resources across borders. The problem is, much of this wealth is siphoned away from the local host communities by big developers. What if this vast flow could be turned into a force for healing, of people, communities, and the planet?
Regenerative tourism is more than sustainability. It does not just minimise harm; it actively restores vitality to ecosystems and empowers local communities. It is based on regenerative design principles. At scale, it can become one of the most powerful global responses to the meta-crisis, the interwoven challenges of climate disruption, inequality, and cultural alienation.
Yet, there is a deeper truth: solving external crises requires inner transformation. Without cultivating human maturity, the capacity to grow beyond ego-driven consumption and live in alignment with the whole, we risk repeating the same patterns that created the many crises we face.
This is where Wild Dharma steps forward.
Our vision is twofold:
Depth: Nurturing inner development and human maturity through integrated regenerative wellness, ensuring transformation is not only external but embodied within people.
Span: Scaling regenerative tourism globally, so that the world’s largest industry becomes a living network of regenerative solutions, channeling resources to the global poor, regenerating ecosystems, and weaving the wisdom and dignity of local culture back into the fabric of life in each bio region it touches..
Wild Dharma’s vision aims to nudge the travel industry into the future. By combining depth and span, we offer not just a transformed model of tourism, but a blueprint for how humanity might navigate this pivotal moment with courage, compassion, and wisdom.
The travel market is demanding change. Travellers no longer merely want to go and see, or merely for leisure. Travellers are overwhelmingly seeking immersive and transformative experiences and they want to know that the people and places they visit are benefitting from their visit.

OUR STUNNING BEACH OASIS
The traditional tourism model, characterised by its focus on maximising visitor numbers and profits, has led to a range of negative impacts on both the environment and local communities. These include environmental degradation, depletion of local resources, pollution, loss of biodiversity, cultural erosion, and displacement of local populations.
Yet, precisley because of its global reach, if we re-imagine it, the travel industry can become one of the great engines of human maturity, cultural renewal, and planetary regeneration.
It can, if done right, nourish communities, restore ecosystems, and awaken the human spirit.
A Global Network of Regenerative Hubs
We envision a re-imagined tourist industry as a web of regenerative sanctuaries, rooted in local culture and bio-regions, yet connected globally.
Each hub becomes an island of coherence, a living seedbed of solutions for local communities and bioregions.
-
Health & Wellbeing: Clinics, nutrition programs, and preventive education that address the roots of illness.
-
Food Security: Community farming, regenerative agriculture, and food literacy that ensure no child goes hungry.
-
Education for the Future: Skills, training, and digital literacy that empower the next generation.
-
Social Enterprise: Local crafts, guiding, and resource-based businesses that create dignified livelihoods.
-
Ecological Renewal: Projects that restore forests, protect reefs, and regenerate the land.
This is not charity. It is reciprocity.
Communities gain resilience.
Travelers gain meaning.
The planet gains breathing room.
Meeting the Hunger for Meaning
The global poor are not lacking in intelligence, skill, or culture. What they lack is access. At the same time, millions of travelers around the world are hungry for connection, meaning and purpose, in the turmoil of our current world, people are desperate to contribute to a better world. this has been made clear by the growing demand for 'sustainable' travel options.
Regenerative travel brings these two forces together.
Travel trends show us that travellers want authentic, immersive and transformative experiences, not only for themselves, but also for the people and places they visit.
Wild Dharma: A Living Prototype
Wild dharma aims to be at the forefront of regenerative travel, joining a small but growing network of regenerative resorts globally.
Wild Dharma in Palawan is one of the first of these hubs:
-
A health clinic providing vital care for local families.
-
Social enterprises turning coconuts, crafts, and cultural knowledge into income.
-
Education initiatives preparing children and adults for a changing world.
-
Immersive wellness programs blending East and West, personal growth and community contribution.
Every guest becomes part of this ecosystem. Every visit is a vote for a different kind of world.
A Force for Global Transformation
When scaled, this vision can reach into every corner of the planet, uplifting communities, protecting biodiversity, and offering a path for the wellness movement to evolve beyond ‘self-focus’ into a global force for good.
Because
Travel, if we re-imagine it, can be one of the great engines of human maturity, cultural renewal, and planetary regeneration.

our vision for travel
The travel industry already has global reach.
By reimagining travel as a global network of regenerative hubs, we unlock scalable impact
in the places that need it most.
A transformed travel industry has the potential to create livelihoods, advance education, improve health, and enhance dignity for millions living at the economic margins.

ENVIRONMENTAL
That is the promise, and power of regenerative travel.
The Human Maturity Project:
Cultivating Capacity for a Complex World
The crises we face today, the climate emergency, widening inequality, political polarisation, and ecological collapse, are not merely technical or systemic problems. They are fundamentally human problems. At their root, they reflect the limits of our collective maturity and our ability to respond with wisdom, clarity, and relational intelligence.
The Human Maturity Project is an initiative aimed at lubricating human development and fostering maturity, so that we can navigate what some call the meta-crisis, the interconnected crises that span ecology, society, and culture.
Why Human Maturity Matters
Modern society has focused on external development, technology, infrastructure, policies, without cultivating the inner capacities required to use them wisely. We have unparalleled power to transform the world, yet our emotional intelligence, relational awareness, and ethical discernment often lag behind.
Human maturity is not about age or authority; it is about the capacity to perceive complexity, tolerate uncertainty, and respond with both compassion and clarity. It is the difference between reaction and insight, between fear-driven division and adaptive cooperation.
What the Project Does
The Human Maturity Project works to accelerate the development of essential human capacities by:
-
Supporting self-awareness and emotional intelligence through practices drawn from wisdom traditions, meditation, and reflective inquiry.
-
Cultivating relational intelligence, helping individuals navigate conflict, build trust, and create meaningful, intimate connections with others.
-
Fostering systemic thinking, enabling people to perceive the interdependence of ecological, social, and personal systems.
-
Encouraging ethical agency, empowering individuals to act wisely and responsibly in complex contexts.
-
-
The Broader Vision
The goal is not simply personal growth, it is cultural and societal maturation. By nurturing human maturity at the individual level, we create the conditions for wiser communities, organisations, and societies. These communities are better able to address climate change, inequality, social unrest, and other systemic challenges with insight rather than panic, cooperation rather than division.
Human Maturity in Practice
At Wild Dharma, the Human Maturity Project is woven into every aspect of life:
-
Retreats and workshops integrate embodied practices, contemplative inquiry, and dialogue to help participants expand awareness and relational capacity.
-
Programs in community development, regenerative travel, and social enterprise provide real-world contexts where these capacities are exercised and tested.
-
Visitors, staff, and community members alike are invited into a living laboratory of human maturity, where inner growth meets outer impact.
-
The Meta-Crisis Requires Inner Development
We cannot solve the meta-crisis with technology or policy alone. It is a challenge of human consciousness. By investing in the cultivation of maturity, wisdom, relational depth, ethical clarity, we are building the adaptive capacities necessary for our species to survive and thrive in a rapidly changing, unpredictable world.
The Human Maturity Project is not a quick fix. It is a long-term, generational commitment to developing the human capacities that allow us to face complexity with courage, insight, and heart.
FROM WELLNESS TO WHOLENESS
Upgrading the wellness movement
The wellness industry, including wellness travel is booming, but still embedded in an outdated paradigm and too focused on individual wellbeing.
In the words of krishnamurti
“It's no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society”
At Wild Dharma, we advocate for what we call, Integrated regenerative wellness, where inner growth, ecological renewal, and community empowerment converge..
Integrated regenerative wellness recognizes the inseparable link between the health of individuals, and the communities and eco-systems they live in.
We see all three as an inseparable triad.

“The connection between what we are doing to the planet, and what we are doing to ourselves, isn’t a metaphor”
The transition from a fragmented worldview, to an embodied, integrated, whole-systems perspective is the critical leap our culture must take.
Wild Dharma offers a life-affirming blueprint for a more sane and regenerative future. Through integrated regenerative wellness, we recognise what has always been true:
the health of individuals, the resilience of our communities, and the regeneration of our planet
are inseparable.
The integration of Self, Culture and Nature is an essential feature of the human maturity project, providing a much needed sense of connection meaning and belonging in our troubled world
The connection between what we are doing to the planet,
and what we are doing to ourselves, isn’t a metaphor”

INTEGRATING PERSONAL, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSFORMATION
THE SOCIAL-CULTURAL PROJECT
Tourism is a powerful force in the global economy, contributing significantly to job creation, economic development, and international understanding. However, the traditional tourism model, characterised by mass travel and its focus on maximising visitor numbers and profits, has led to a range of negative impacts on both the environment and local communities.
TOO OFTEN, LOCAL COMMUNITES ARE LEFT OUT OF THE BENEFITS OF TOURISM
Regenerative travel has the power to transform poverty into possibility.
When travel shifts from consumption to regeneration, it becomes more than leisure — it becomes a force for healing. Resorts and retreats are no longer islands of privilege, but living hubs that channel resources, skills, and opportunity directly into the communities that host them.
Imagine a global network of regenerative destinations — each one restoring ecosystems, cultivating local enterprise, and ensuring dignity, education, and health for those who have long lived at the margins of the global economy.
This is how travel becomes an antidote to poverty: not through charity, but through genuine partnership. By creating livelihoods, by building resilience, by valuing culture, and by weaving local communities into a thriving global story.
Scaling regenerative travel globally means poverty is not a destiny, but a starting point for flourishing. It means that every journey a traveler takes is also a journey toward a more just, abundant, and interconnected world.

COMMUNITY HEALTH
THE THREE MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS
EDUCATION
POVERTY
Community Health and Wellbeing at Wild Dharma
The communities surrounding Wild Dharma face significant poverty and limited access to basic healthcare.
To address this, we plan to establish a small community health clinic as the central hub for all health-related initiatives.
Our clinic will provide basic medical care, nutrition programs, maternal and child support, and preventive education, ensuring that local families have access to essential services.
It will also allow us to collect data and monitor the key health challenges affecting the community over time.
Health is foundational to thriving communities. By linking our health initiatives with regenerative practices such as sustainable farming, clean water management, and social enterprise programs, we aim to tackle the root causes of malnutrition and disease, creating long-term resilience.
Effective strategies for remote, poor communities must be holistic, community-driven, and sustainable.
Wild Dharma supports the community in improving quality of life, building resilience,
and thriving in harmony with their environment.
Food insecurity is a pressing concern. Many local families struggle to access enough food, a reality reflected in children who are often significantly smaller than their age would suggest.
Addressing nutrition and healthcare together is a key part of our mission to nurture healthy, resilient communities.
Restoring access to plentiful, nutritious food is a central pillar of community health. It not only aids in the health of a community but revives the dignity of a rich local food culture
Planting Seeds of Change:
How Regenerative Travel Can Fuel a 'Food Revolution' for the Global Poor

Regenerative Travel as a Catalyst for Community Health
Health is one of the most fundamental markers of human dignity, yet for many of the global poor, access to even basic healthcare is precarious or nonexistent.
Malnutrition, preventable disease, lack of clean water, and inadequate maternal and child health services remain persistent challenges in rural communities.
Without health, education falters, livelihoods weaken, and the cycle of poverty deepens.
This is where regenerative travel can offer a powerful intervention. Unlike traditional tourism, which too often extracts from local communities, regenerative travel invests directly in the wellbeing of the people who host it.
By tying the success of the travel industry to the flourishing of local populations, health becomes both a moral and practical priority.
At Wild Dharma, community health is at the heart of our mission.
Our plans include:
-
A community health clinic that provides accessible medical care for local families, bridging the gap where public systems are underfunded or out of reach.
-
Nutrition programs that address malnutrition by improving access to healthy food, supported by regenerative farming, permaculture gardens, fishing, and food sovereignty initiatives.
-
Maternal and child health initiatives, ensuring women and children have the care, education, and resources they need to thrive.
-
Preventive health education, teaching communities about hygiene, disease prevention, and the link between ecological health and human health.
-
Mental and emotional wellbeing support, recognizing that poverty and marginalization also carry deep psychological burdens.
By integrating these efforts with regenerative travel, we create a sustainable funding mechanism where visitors who come for transformative experiences directly contribute to the health and vitality of the communities they encounter.
Every stay, retreat, or wellness journey becomes an act of solidarity, nourishing both guest and host.
Scaling this model globally could create a network of regenerative hubs where community health services are not a secondary benefit, but a central pillar of how the travel industry operates.
Imagine resorts across the developing world doubling as centers of health, resilience,
culture and wellbeing for surrounding communities.
When Poverty Becomes a Health Crisis
In remote parts of the Philippines, health challenges are deeply tied to poverty. Many families live far from clinics or hospitals, with little access to consistent medical care, clean water, or nutritious food. Poverty forces communities to rely on limited staples like rice and fish, leaving diets unbalanced and children vulnerable to stunting and malnutrition. Illnesses that are easily preventable elsewhere can become life-threatening when resources are scarce.
Food insecurity is not just about lack of food, but lack of access to healthy, diverse, and reliable nutrition, something that directly undermines long-term health and wellbeing. Breaking this cycle requires addressing poverty at its roots, improving both food systems and health support together.

Nutrition programs that address malnutrition
Regenerative Travel as a Catalyst for Health and Food Security
At Wild Dharma, we believe travel can be transformative, not just for guests, but for the communities and ecosystems that host them. Our model integrates inner development, ecological restoration, and community empowerment, creating a tangible pathway for regenerative impact.
Access to food is a fundamental human dignity. for the local communities around us there are times when there is literally no food.
Poverty, is a central feature of the health challenges the local communities face. these communities live at the far edges of the wider economy, they live day to day, hand to mouth, relying mostly on the increasingly challenging life of fishing.
local diet is basically meat and rice. with very little vegetables or fruit.
Strengthening Local Food Systems
We work directly with local farmers and fisherfolk, sourcing produce for our resort while building demand for healthy, sustainable crops. This not only creates income for local families but ensures that nutritious, culturally appropriate food flows back into the community.
Creating Access to Nutritious Food
Through partnerships with schools, community kitchens, and local enterprises, Wild Dharma channels part of our economic activity to improve access to healthy meals for children and families in nearby villages. This helps tackle malnutrition while teaching sustainable cooking and farming practices.
Regenerating Land and Soil Health
Our permaculture and agroforestry programs restore degraded lands, improve crop yields, and regenerate biodiversity. Healthy soil leads to healthier food, which strengthens community wellbeing and resilience for the long term.
Celebrating Culture and Dignity
Food is more than nutrition — it’s identity, culture, and pride. We help revive traditional culinary practices and support local markets, giving communities agency over their own food systems while sharing their culture with guests.
Building Sustainable Resilience
Wild Dharma is not a charity; it is a self-sustaining regenerative ecosystem. Every guest visit, every meal sourced locally, and every community program strengthens a feedback loop of economic, social, and ecological health.
Through regenerative travel, Wild Dharma transforms tourism into a powerful force for food security, health, and dignity, proving that conscious travel can feed both people and planet.
